Most peoples review on this were positive as it shows both sides of the WW II because not everyone thinks of the innocent and naïve children in the WW II. They just have a negative view on all Germans.
However, Jews may have a negative view on this because it doesn't show all that they went through and that at the end of the movie the audience feel sorry for the German family and the loss of their son. This is to some extent understandable, as what the Jews went through was torture, racism and war while healthy and wealthy German families took part or sat and agreed with the Nazi regime.
